A Coptic human rights organisation seeks funding to build a database on incidents of persecution against Copts in Egypt.
CS says the database “will serve as a resource to governments, legislators, policy makers, churches, and individuals”. CS also says the database will facilitate an understanding of the nature and extent of persecution and aid in finding solutions for Egypt’s Copts. The campaign has so far raised $2,000.
Egyptian Copts experience frequent persecution in the forms of harassment, rape, kidnapping, and church bombings. This is often due to hateful propaganda spread by Islamist organisations like the Muslim Brotherhood.
